Inspiration
My inspiration has always been the trials and tribulations of our life in a mortal world. Originally, this inspiration found me deep in the dark depths of outer space. But, as I grew to love the possibilities of life on this Earth, my viewpoint became ever more hopeful. Today, I look at life level-headed while maintaining the optimistic viewpoint that gives my art its meaning and unique direction.
Techniques
My current top-level media is oil on canvas. However, I use several techniques to achieve my goal of artistic honesty and spirited conversation with the observer. These include the utilization of skills in photorealistic recreation of a scene for dream and portrait imagery, a more Rembrandtesque use of impasto to create Impressionistic energy in the visual dialog, and the even more free application of palette knife energy to approach the Freudian Id energy that underlies all creative activity. I also use watercolor, ink, and colored pencil in the development of ideas that might then grow into a more formal treatment with oils.
